The Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies of the University of Bucharest, in collaboration with its partner universities in Africa, is launching the selection for teaching mobility within the Bridging Continents, Building Futures: Applied Chemistry Education and Research for Urban Sustainability project, funded through the CIVIS Seed Funding for Research Activities and African-European Collaboration 2025 call.

Purpose of the selection:

This selection aims to facilitate the participation of researchers and academics from partner universities in Africa (University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, and Université Hassan II de Casablanca, Morocco) in the working meeting that will take place in Bucharest during the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year. Their participation will contribute to strengthening academic and scientific collaboration between Europe and Africa in the field of applied chemistry.

Number of available mobilities:

3 mobilities for University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa
3 mobilities for Université Hassan II de Casablanca, Morocco

Selection calendar:

Application submission deadline: December 2, 2025 at 10:00 EET
Preliminary results of the selection: December 2, 2025 at 14:00 EET
Contestation deadline: December 5, 2025 at14:00 EET
Final results of the selection: December 5, 2025 after 14:00 EET
Mobility period: March-June, 2026 (the event will take place at the University of Bucharest)

Required application documents:

Copy of the Passport (will be good to have a valid visa for travelling to Romania)
Updated CV (in English)
List of relevant recent publications in the field of applied chemistry
Teaching plan for the mobility – established in agreement with the project coordinator
Evidence of participation in activities within CIVIS alliance
Any other relevant documents supporting the application

Eligibility criteria:

The candidate must be an active academic or researcher from one of the following partner universities in Africa: University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, or Université Hassan II de Casablanca, Morocco.
The candidate must demonstrate relevant experience and contributions in the field of applied chemistry research.
